Explorer blower motor failure
Summary of the thread
The 2009 Ford Explorer's fresh air blower motor has stopped working, with no air blowing at any speed and an HVAC-related error stored in the system. Fuses have been checked and are fine, suggesting the issue might be with the blower motor itself or the fan speed controller. Since there are no noises from the blower motor area, it could indicate a defective motor, which is typically located behind the glove box. If not comfortable with electrical repairs, consulting a mechanic is recommended.

Thanks for the quick reply! No, I don't hear any noises at all. Complete silence. Where exactly is the blower motor located in the Explorer? Is it easy to access?

Silence is not a good sign. On my Explorer, the blower motor was indeed defective. Accessing it can be a bit tricky depending on the trim level, but it's usually behind the glove box. However, if you're not comfortable with electrical wiring, it's best to take it to a workshop. I ended up paying around 365€ for the repair, including parts and labor.

Okay, thanks for the info. Sounds like a trip to the mechanic is in order. I appreciate the help!

I had a similar problem with my Explorer. If the fuses are okay, the next thing to check is the blower motor itself and the fan speed controller. Do you hear any unusual noises coming from the blower motor area when you turn the fan on, even on the highest setting?
