Explorer Electric Seat Fault
Summary of the thread
The conversation revolves around a faulty electric seat in a 2012 Ford Explorer. The initial problem is that the passenger seat cannot be adjusted, and an error is stored. A discharged battery is considered a potential cause. A suggestion is made to check the seat harness for loose or damaged wiring. Ultimately, the issue is resolved by replacing a defective battery.

Thanks. Was your error also related to a discharged battery, or was it purely a wiring issue?

In my case, it was the wiring. But if your battery is weak, it could definitely cause issues with electrical components like the seat motor. If the harness looks okay, it's best to have the battery checked and the error memory read at a workshop.

Thanks for the help. It turned out to be a defective battery as you suggested. Repair cost 290€.

I had a similar issue on my Explorer. Check the seat harness under the seat first. Sometimes the wiring gets loose or damaged.
