Explorer Fog Sensor Issues

I'm having a perplexing issue with my 2022 Ford Explorer Hybrid. It seems like a fog sensor malfunction. I've got about 175526 kilometers on it. The AC isn't starting, the spray nozzles are freezing even when it's not that cold, and the mirror heating isn't working. I read it could be a bad cable or plug. Anyone else seen this?

Whoa, that sounds like a mess! I had something similar in my Explorer, but it wasn't the hybrid. The error memory thing is familiar. Did you check the sensor connections yourself, or are you taking it to a shop? Could be a corroded or loose wire. Have you scanned it with an OBD2 reader? What codes are you getting?

Thanks for the quick reply. I appreciate the advice. I tried to look at the sensor connections, but I'm not an expert with car electrical systems. I didn't see any corrosion or loose connections. I have an OBD2 reader, and it's throwing several codes, all pointing to the fog sensor. Did your Explorer have the same symptoms, like the AC and mirror heating issues?

Okay, so my Explorer threw some weird codes too, but not exactly the same symptoms. My AC was acting up, but the mirrors were fine. Given all those issues together and that you're getting fog sensor codes, and you're not super confident poking around, I'd seriously consider getting it checked out professionally. Could be a simple fix, but chasing electrical gremlins can be a nightmare. My issue turned out to be a dodgy connector, and it was easier to have someone with the right tools sort it.

I appreciate you sharing your experiences and your advice. I took it to the shop. The mechanic confirmed it was a defective cable or plug connection. The repair cost was 95€. Thanks again for your help!
