Explorer Hybrid Electrical Fault Resolved

I've got a 2019 Ford Explorer Hybrid with about 68k km on the clock, and it's throwing a weird fit. I'm getting an error stored in the memory, the gear selection display in the speedometer is dead, cruise control's kaput, and sometimes it won't even start. Could a bad clutch pedal switch cause all this? I saw something about potentially defective cable/plug connections. Anyone seen anything similar?

That's a strange combo of issues. I had something similar happen with my old Renault Megane, though it was a purely petrol engine. The symptoms weren't exactly the same, but the stalling and the cruise control thing sound very familiar. Did you check the usual suspects like fuses or relays? Maybe even the battery?

Fuses look good, and the battery seems okay. I've been leaning towards the clutch pedal switch because that seems to tie into the starting issue and maybe the gear selector display. But cruise control too? What ended up being the culprit with your Megane?

Ah, on the Megane, it ended up being a faulty sensor on the gearbox, causing all sorts of electrical mayhem. Given that yours is a hybrid, the electrical system is probably even more sensitive. I'd highly recommend getting it scanned with a proper diagnostic tool at a workshop to pinpoint the exact sensor or connection that's causing the issue. It could save you a lot of headaches.

Appreciate the input! I took your advice and brought it in. Turns out it was indeed the clutch pedal switch, or rather, a dodgy connector. 95€ later, and it's all sorted. Thanks again!
