Explorer Hybrid Solar Sensor Error

Wiring harness, huh? Where exactly is this sensor usually located? I mean, I can poke around, but I'd rather not tear apart the entire dashboard if I can avoid it. Any hints on finding the cable or plug connection of the component?

Okay, so on my Corsa (and I must stress, this IS a Corsa, not an Explorer), it was tucked up near the base of the windshield, behind the dash. Access was a nightmare. Honestly, given that it's a relatively new Explorer, and you're getting specific error codes, I'd seriously consider taking it to a workshop. They'll have the diagnostic tools to pinpoint the exact problem and potentially save you a ton of grief.

You're probably right. I was hoping for a quick fix, but I think this one's beyond my patience level. Took it to the shop. Turns out it was indeed a defective plug connection and cost me 95€ to get it fixed. Thanks for the advice!

Oh man, that sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my Opel Corsa a few years back. Although it wasn't exactly a 'solar sensor,' it was some kind of ambient temperature sensor that messed with my climate control. The heating would randomly decide to only blow cold air. Did you try checking the sensor's wiring harness? Sometimes a loose connection can cause these kinds of intermittent faults.
