Explorer Key Fob Battery Issue

I own a 2007 Ford Explorer (gasoline engine) with 65966 km. Recently, I've been getting a 'Key battery low' warning. Keyless access no longer works, there's an error stored, and unlocking/locking is failing. I suspect the electronic key battery. Has anyone else seen this?

Yes, sounds like the key fob battery is the likely cause. It's a common issue. Have you tried replacing the battery in your key?

No, I haven't replaced the battery yet. I wanted to confirm this was likely the issue before replacing it myself.

It is a very common issue with these keys. Replacing the battery will most likely solve it. If the problem continues after replacing the battery, a workshop visit is recommended.

Thanks for confirming. I replaced the key battery, and that fixed it. Total cost was 37€.
