Explorer Lighting Fault

Hey, I've got a weird electrical problem with my 2020 Ford Explorer Hybrid. It's got 184279 kilometers on it. The lights are acting randomly, and the diagnostic scan shows an error in the memory. Could it be a bad cable or plug? Anyone seen this before? Trying to avoid a 95€ repair bill.

Summary of the thread

A 2020 Ford Explorer Hybrid with 184,279 kilometers is experiencing random lighting issues and a diagnostic scan error in the memory. Possible causes include a bad cable, plug, or corroded connection. Suggested solutions involve checking the fuse box for loose or corroded fuses and considering a wire replacement, which ultimately resolved the issue.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Explorer, eh? Had similar weird light behavior. First thing, did you check the fuse box? Seems simple, but a loose or corroded fuse can cause havoc.

Yeah, I can check that. Did you have the same symptoms, like the error memory storage? Which fuse box and fuse number did you check?

Yeah, saw the same error codes. Ended up being a corroded connection. If checking doesn't solve it, I'd say bite the bullet and get it to a workshop. Electrical gremlins are a pain.

Thanks for the advice! It was helpful. Following your recommendation and the repairman's, a simple wire replacement seems to have solved it. I'm back on the road.
