Explorer massage seat failure
Summary of the thread
The massage function on a 2019 Ford Explorer Hybrid's driver's seat stopped working, with the switch unresponsive and an error stored in the system. The issue was suspected to be a faulty connection, possibly a defective cable or plug related to the massage seat switch. After checking the fuses and finding them intact, it was advised to take the vehicle to a workshop for further diagnosis. The problem was confirmed to be a defective plug connection, which was repaired, restoring the seat's functionality.

Thanks for the suggestion! I checked the fuses, and they seem fine. Where exactly would I find the cable or plug you're referring to? I am not sure how to access the error code. Do I need some special equipment?

Without the proper diagnostic tools, retrieving the specific error code will be difficult. Given that the fuses are okay, and you're not comfortable digging into the car upholstery to get to the switch wiring, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. The cost for a repair like that should be around 95€.

Thanks so much for your help and advice! I took it to the shop, and it was indeed a defective plug connection as you suspected. They fixed it for 95€, and my massage seat is working again. I really appreciate your help!

Sounds like a faulty connection. Most likely the cable or plug connecting to the massage seat switch has become defective. Have you checked the relevant fuses for the seat? Also, can you access the error code stored in the system?
