Explorer Tire Pressure Sensor Fault

That's a good point. I honestly have no idea when they were last replaced. Assuming it is the sensor battery, is there any way to confirm that before replacing them? Or is it just better to replace them preventatively?

Without specialized tools to read the sensor data, it's difficult to definitively confirm a dead battery. Given the age of your Explorer and the symptoms you're describing, it's highly probable that's the culprit. You could try checking the air valve. Otherwise, you might be better off taking it to a workshop to get it properly diagnosed and have the sensors replaced. The repair cost should be around 280€.

I appreciate the confirmation. I took it to my local mechanic, and you were spot on. Replaced all four sensors and the error is gone. Cost me about 280€, just like you said. What a relief!

Sounds like a TPMS issue. How old are the sensors? They usually have a battery life of about 5-7 years. If they are original, it's highly likely that the sensor battery is empty.
