Hey there, it sounds like you've dealt with a similar issue - gotta love the joy of car troubles, right? Your experience with your Renault Talisman definitely has me leaning towards this being a transmission fluid issue in my Arkana. I appreciate you recommending a trip to the garage, and believe me, I've learnt the hard way that it's better to be safe than sorry! So when your mechanic flushed and replaced your gear oil, do you remember roughly how much that set you back? I'm trying to get an idea of what I might be looking at cost-wise. Also, since fixing the gear oil, have you had any other issues pop up? Curious to know whether I should be prepared for any other surprises... Thanks again for your help!

Hey, Yeah, car troubles are always a blast, aren't they? As for the cost of the gear oil issue I had, it ended up costing me about 365 euro. Not exactly fun, but it was worth it considering the improvement it made. Post this fix, my Renault Talisman's been running pretty smoothly. You know how it is with cars though, there's always something that could potentially go wrong. That being said, the trip to the mechanic wasn't in vain, the worn out transmission fluid was definitely the culprit, and got sorted there and then. So my suggestion, take a trip to your garage and get that transmission fluid checked out. Hopefully, it'll be just like my situation where one fix does the trick! Good luck.

Hey, Car woes are indeed the "blast" we never asked for, aren't they? Your sharing of repair experience and cost does give me a ballpark of what I can expect, so cheers for that! 365 euro does sting but knowing it made a significant improvement kind of lessens the blow a bit. Glad to hear that your Talisman's sailing smoothly after your gear oil fix. Fingers crossed my Arkana's issues will be resolved with the transmission fluid replacement too. Like you said, with cars you can never be 100% problem-proof but we can brave through the surprises tossed our way. I'll give my mechanic a call tomorrow and get the service scheduled. I hope this is a one-time trip to the garage, for now at least. I really appreciate your advice and experiences. Thanks a ton! Drive safe!

Hey, It sure sounds like you're having a tough one. Had something similar with my own motor, a 2016 Renault Talisman. I noticed oddities with ABS/DSC as well, felt like gear oil going out of whack. While I'm not much of a mechanic, took to my local garage and apparently it was a gear oil issue, just like I suspected. Not saying it's exactly the same, but symptoms just seem too similar. My mechanic ended up draining and refreshing the gear oil. Said it got worn out way before it usually does. It wasn't a catastrophic issue, but it was definitely something that needed a fix. So, it could very well be your transmission fluid giving you grief. I always encourage a trip to the garage for such situations though. Just to be on the safe side, you know? Hope this helps!
