Express oxygen sensor heater failure

I'm having an oxygen sensor heater failure on my 2012 Chevrolet Express with a gasoline engine. It has 43697 km. The check engine light is on, and I'm getting increased fuel consumption. I've checked the cable and plug, but I suspect the component. Has anyone seen this before?

Summary of the thread

The conversation revolves around a persistent oxygen sensor heater failure in a 2012 Chevrolet Express, leading to a check engine light and increased fuel consumption. The initial suspicion was a faulty component after checking the cable and plug. A similar issue was resolved by replacing the faulty sensor, which was confirmed by a technician.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I have an Express and had a similar oxygen sensor issue. Check engine light and fuel consumption were my symptoms too. Test the sensor thoroughly, especially the heater element. Was the error intermittent or always there?

The error is persistent, it comes back right after clearing it. Can you tell me more about how you tested the sensor? I want to understand the diagnostic steps better.

Since it's persistent, it's probably more than just a loose connection. My problem was a faulty sensor. I'd suggest seeing a technician; exhaust systems need special equipment to test properly.

I took your advice and saw a technician. It was the oxygen sensor, and it needed to be replaced. The total cost was 95€. Thanks for the help figuring this out.
