F Type Misfire Issues, Coils & Injectors Troubleshooting

My 2020 F Type keeps misfiring and losing power. The check engine light came on last week and the engine runs really rough, especially when accelerating. The car jerks noticeably during acceleration and seems down on power. Based on some research, I suspect cylinder misfire issues but want to narrow down the cause before heading to a workshop. Has anyone experienced similar symptoms and had them fixed? Particularly interested in whether it turned out to be ignition coils, fuel injectors, or something else entirely. Would appreciate hearing about repair experiences and costs involved in fixing this type of problem.

Had a very similar issue with my 2018 F Pace last year. The engine misfiring symptoms were almost identical, rough running, poor throttle response, and the check engine light coming on. After some initial troubleshooting, took it to an independent specialist. They diagnosed a faulty fuel injector in cylinder 3 that was causing incomplete combustion. The repair involved replacing the defective injector and testing the fuel system. Total cost was 515€ including parts and labor. Since the fix, the engine has run smoothly with no more misfiring or power loss issues. The repair process took about 4 hours once they had the parts in stock. To better assist with your specific case, could you share: Current mileage on your F Type, Whether the check engine light is steady or flashing, If you notice the misfiring more at idle or during acceleration, Any recent maintenance history, If you have access to diagnostic codes from an OBD reader These details would help determine if your symptoms match my experience or point to a different underlying cause.

Thanks for sharing your experience. My F Type has 77270 KM and was last serviced 3 months ago. The check engine light stays solid rather than flashing, and the rough idle is most noticeable when the engine is cold. The cylinder misfire seems worse during acceleration, especially between 2000-3000 RPM. Based on your fuel injector repair experience, I will have that checked first. Since the spark plugs were replaced during the last service, I suspect the problem lies elsewhere in the fuel delivery system. The fuel pressure could be inconsistent if one of the injectors is failing. When the power loss occurs, the throttle response becomes very sluggish. Did you notice similar symptoms before your repair?

Yes, the throttle response issues you describe match exactly what I experienced with my F Pace. The symptoms are remarkably similar, particularly the sluggish acceleration in that 2000-3000 RPM range. The solid check engine light and cold idle roughness also align with my fuel injector problem. The fact your spark plugs are new narrows things down considerably. In my case, the faulty injector was causing incomplete combustion misfire, leading to those exact performance issues. Before the repair, the engine would hesitate significantly when pressing the accelerator, almost like it was starving for fuel. What helped confirm the diagnosis was getting the specific error codes read. The cylinder misfire codes pointed directly to the problematic injector. Since your mileage is similar to when my issue occurred, and the symptoms match so closely, I strongly suspect you are dealing with the same root cause. One thing to watch for, if the engine misfiring gets worse or the check engine light starts flashing, I would avoid driving the car until it is repaired. In my case, continuing to drive with the faulty injector began causing rougher operation over time.

My F Type has 77270 KM and the last service was just 3 months ago. The check engine light stays steady rather than flashing, and I notice the rough idle most when the engine is cold. The combustion misfire definitely gets worse during acceleration, particularly between 2000-3000 RPM. Based on your fuel injector repair experience, that will be the first thing I have checked. The spark plugs were already replaced during the recent service, so I suspect the problem lies somewhere in the fuel delivery system. The fuel pressure might be inconsistent if one of the injectors is failing. The throttle response becomes very sluggish when the power loss occurs. I am curious if you experienced similar symptoms before your repair? I will get the diagnostic codes read first to confirm if I am dealing with the same injector issue you had. The symptoms seem very similar, especially the acceleration problems in that specific RPM range. Thanks for sharing your detailed repair experience, it helps narrow down where to start looking for the problem.
