Fabia Diesel Engine Trouble
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Fabia diesel is experiencing increased fuel consumption, reduced engine power, stalling at idle, and smoke during acceleration. The suspected cause is a faulty injection system, possibly due to defective cable or plug connections. A similar issue was resolved by checking the injection system connections, leading to a quick diagnosis and repair at a workshop, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Air filter is new. Was your issue exactly the same? Smoke on acceleration and stalling too?

Ok, the air filter was just an initial check. Yes, similar symptoms especially the power loss and rough idle. For me it was a dodgy connection in the injection system as well. I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop. They should be able to pinpoint the fault quickly.

Appreciate the insight. I booked it in. They were able to diagnose the cable and connection issue to the injector system pretty quickly. 95€ all in. Runs like new. Thanks again.

I had a similar problem with my Fabia a while back. Loss of power especially when accelerating. Have you checked the air filter? A clogged filter can mess with the air/diesel mixture and impact performance.
