Failure of navigation system, audio system and interior light in BMW 2 Series 2011 Diesel

Hello everyone, I have a small problem with my 2011 BMW 2 Series, diesel, with approx. 125400 km on the clock. My sat nav and audio system don't really want to work anymore. I suspect it is somehow related to the interior light, which has also given up the ghost. Have any of you ever had similar problems and can perhaps give me a tip? Unfortunately, I had a rather bad experience with the mechanic recently, so I'd rather turn here first. Thanks in advance!

Hello, I was once in the same situation with my 2008 BMW 3 Series. I had a serious electrical problem that messed everything up - sat nav, audio and even the interior lights. That was after about 110,000 km. So yes, your suspicions could be correct. The first step for me was to check the fuse before any further action was taken, which unfortunately turned out to be quite extensive. Hope this helps you a bit. Good luck, buddy!

Hi, your tip about the fuse is a really good idea. But that sounds like a pretty nasty affair with the complete electrical problem. Do you happen to remember what you paid for the repair? And have you had any other problems since then, or was that the end of it? Looking forward to your reply and thanks in advance!

Well, since the mech was fitted, the interior light issue is definitely over. I had the same problem with the interior light as you did. They just had to reprogram it. Cost me €45, but after that everything worked again. As far as I remember, the other electrical problems were also gone. I've been really happy ever since! No more stress and it's fine. So no need to panic, buddy, it should actually be doable. Good luck, hope this helps you!

Hello, I'm really relieved. Thanks again for your tip! I'm going to check the fuse first and, if necessary, have the mechanic start up to learn the interior light. It's great that your electrical problems are now history! Hopefully I'll be ready soon too. Your information was really helpful. Thanks again for that, buddy! You've really helped me out. I'll let you know how things progress. See you then!

Greetings dear community, In my BMW 440i, the high beam on the left and sometimes on the right always goes out shortly after switching on and then it is reported that these associated systems have failed. What could be the cause? Thank you in advance. Best regards

It sounds like you might be dealing with a faulty headlight bulb or a problem with the headlight wiring. Start by checking the bulbs. If they are fine, then you might want to inspect the wiring and the connectors for any signs of damage or corrosion. If you're not comfortable doing this yourself, I would recommend taking your car to a professional mechanic, as this issue is safety-relevant. Please keep us updated on your progress. Do you have any other questions?

In the Carly app, you can change the unit of measurement from kilometers to miles. Go to the settings of the app, look for the "Units" section, and there you should be able to switch from kilometers to miles. If you have any further questions or need more help, feel free to ask.
