I haven't had the AC control unit specifically checked. Is this a common issue with the climate control in general? What did you end up doing with your Opel?

I ended up taking my Insignia to a trusted shop. They diagnosed a faulty AC control unit that wasn't sending the signal to the compressor. I'd advise getting it checked by a professional. Could be an expensive guessing game otherwise.

Okay, that's great advice. I went to my local shop, and the AC control unit was the problem. It cost 980€ to repair, but at least it's fixed!

Sounds familiar. I had similar AC issues on my old 2012 Opel Insignia. It might not be a refrigerant leak. Is the compressor starting at all? If not, you might have a defective AC control unit. Has the mechanic checked the AC control unit?
