Falcon check engine light air supply

Interesting! I did a visual inspection, but didn't really focus on that specific hose connection. Was it obvious once you found it, or did you have to really dig in to see the defect?

Honestly, I had to feel around for it more than see it. It was on the underside, so a visual check didn't reveal much. Once I ran my hand along it, I could feel the split. It was causing air intake and idle problems, just like you are having. If that hose is the issue, better get it fixed. A defective air valve can trigger more expensive problems. If you are not up to it, I would recommend the workshop.

Thanks a bunch for the tip! It turned out to be exactly what you described – a split hose on the connection to the air valve. I took it to the shop, and they replaced the hose; repair came out to 175€. Check engine light is now off, and the car is running great. I really appreciate the help!

Sounds frustrating! I had something similar happen with my Falcon, although I can’t recall the exact year. Started with the check engine light, drove me nuts. Have you looked at the hose connection from the air pump to the valve? That was the culprit for me; a tiny split caused all sorts of problems. It's like a leaky faucet; a small drip can waste a lot of water!
