Falcon intake air temperature issue

Hey, I'm having some issues with my 2013 Ford Falcon (gasoline engine). The check engine light keeps popping up, and the car feels like it's lost a lot of its oomph. I also get rough engine running sometimes. I plugged in a cheap diagnostic tool, and it's showing an error related to the intake air temperature. Could this be the culprit?

I had something similar happen with my Falcon. Same symptoms – check engine light, sluggish performance, and rough idling. I'd also start by checking the intake air temperature sensor. What kind of temperature reading are you getting from your diagnostic tool?

Thanks for the quick reply! The diagnostic tool showed a consistently low temperature reading, even after the engine had been running for a while. I'm no expert, but that doesn't seem right, does it? What did you end up doing to fix yours?

Yep, that sounds like the exact issue I had. A faulty intake air temperature sensor will definitely cause those problems. I tried cleaning the sensor first, but it didn't help. Honestly, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. They can properly diagnose it and replace the sensor if needed. It's a pretty cheap part, but you want to make sure it's done right.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to a local workshop, and they confirmed it was a defective intake air temperature sensor. They replaced it for 155€, and now the car runs perfectly. No more check engine light or loss of power!
