Falcon Jerking Whistling Hissing

Hey, I'm having a nightmare with my 2012 Ford Falcon (gasoline engine). The check engine light is on, and the car feels like it's jerking when I accelerate. Plus, I'm hearing this weird whistling and loud hissing sound when I put my foot down. Sometimes it even stalls at idle! I've also noticed I'm using way more gas than usual, and the engine just doesn't have the same power. Could it be a bad boost pressure sensor? I've checked the hoses quickly and everything looks okay, but what do I know?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Falcon. Is it throwing any codes? Could be a boost leak somewhere in the turbo system. Have you checked all the connections around the turbo itself? Any signs of oil?

Codes? I don't have a scanner. Where exactly should I be looking around the turbo? I mean, is it just the hoses I should check, or is there something else? Am I looking for loose connections?

Yeah, you'll need a scanner to read the codes. As for the turbo, check all the hoses connected to it, especially the ones for the boost pressure sensor. Also, inspect the plug and wiring going to the sensor itself. A defective cable or plug connection is often the culprit. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, best to take it to a workshop.

Thanks for the advice! You were spot on – took it to the shop, and they confirmed it was the boost pressure sensor connection. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Runs like a dream now!
