Cheers for the reply! Guides look clear, and I've jiggled the wires. Still no joy. If the motor's shot, is it likely to be a simple swap, or does it need coding or something fancy?

Given your further diagnostics, a motor failure appears increasingly probable. Replacement typically does not necessitate coding for a vehicle of that vintage. However, I would strongly advocate consulting a qualified automotive technician for confirmation and to ensure appropriate installation procedures are followed; furthermore, he will be able to read out the error memory.

Workshop confirmed dead motor. 330€ all in. Ouch, but at least it's sorted. Ta for the advice!

Greetings. A defective sunblind motor is a plausible diagnosis given the symptoms you described, particularly the stored error. However, have you inspected the sunblind guides for any obstructions or debris that might impede its movement? It is also prudent to verify the electrical connections to the motor assembly.
