Fan failure in Peugeot 4007 Diesel from 2011: Possible defect in the air conditioning control unit
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Peugeot 4007 diesel is experiencing fan issues, suspected to be due to a defect in the air conditioning control unit. A similar problem in a 2008 Peugeot 407 was resolved by replacing the A/C control unit, which was a straightforward process for a knowledgeable mechanic. The replacement effectively resolved the issue, suggesting that the initial suspicion of a faulty climate control unit is likely correct. Seeking a mechanic familiar with Peugeot models is recommended to ensure a successful repair.

Hey, thanks for the quick feedback! It seems that I wasn't so wrong with my assumption. Did it quickly cost you money or is the price of a new air conditioning control unit reasonable? And have you noticed anything else with regard to the blower or the air conditioning control unit since the repair? It would be good to know what else I need to be aware of. Thank you!

Hey, no problem, I'm happy to share! In my case, replacing the air conditioning control unit, including installation and all the trimmings, ultimately cost €940. Of course, that's no mean feat, but it was justified in my opinion. And to the question of whether I still had problems - since I've been to the mechanic, my air conditioning control unit has been working perfectly. So the fault with the air conditioning control unit has been completely rectified. I hope it stays that way for you too, fingers crossed!

Wow, €940 sounds pretty hefty. But if it solves the problem and I don't have to worry about it again, it might actually be justified. After all, it's an older model and not exactly a simple defect. Thank you for sharing your experience with me, it definitely makes my decision easier. I'll take it up with my mechanic and hopefully everything will be back to the way it should be. Thanks again and all the best to you!

Hi, I had a similar issue with my 2008 Peugeot 407, my blower wasn't working properly either and it turned out to actually be a problem with the climate control unit. It was a bit stressful because it's important, of course, especially in the summertime. The mechanic had to replace the A/C control unit because there was no point in fixing it. It was pretty straightforward for him and didn't take long. The important thing is to make sure that your mechanic is really familiar with Peugeot models. So yes, you may be absolutely right in your assumption. It wasn't a minor problem for me, but nothing extremely serious either. Hopefully this helps you a bit. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
