Faulty speed signal and warning lights on the Opel Zafira 2019: experience and advice wanted
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
An Opel Zafira 2019 owner is experiencing multiple warning lights, including the ABS warning, and suspects a "speed signal faulty" issue. A similar case with an Opel Insignia involved a defective ABS control unit, which, once replaced, resolved the warning lights and speed signal issue. The suggested solution is to have the ABS control unit checked and possibly replaced by a competent mechanic to ensure safety and resolve the problem.

Hey, thanks for your reply. It seems like you've been through the exact same situation I'm worried about at the moment. Good to know that after replacing the ABS control unit, everything is back to normal for you. Can I ask you how much it cost you to replace the ABS control unit? And were there any other subsequent problems or surprises? Many thanks and best regards!

Hey, sure, no problem. So, replacing the ABS control unit cost me €1000. Yes, it was a bit expensive, but my mechanic did a really good job. Since the repair I haven't had any more problems and most importantly the "speed signal faulty" you mentioned has also been fixed. So all in all, I can only say that the repair was worth it. Have to say, in hindsight, I'm pretty relieved that I got it sorted! I hope this helps you a bit! Let me know if you have any other questions. Best regards!

Hey, thanks for your openness. Yes, €1000 might sound a bit pricey, but a safe ride is definitely worth it. I'm really relieved that everything has been going well for you since then and that the "speed signal faulty" error has been fixed. I will definitely take your advice to heart and hope to find an equally competent mechanic. I will then share my experience here. Thanks again for your help and quick reply! See you then and take good care of yourself!

Hey, I can fully understand what you're saying. I recently had a similar problem with my 2016 Opel Insignia. The ABS control unit was defective. I had the same symptoms as you - several warning lights were on and the ABS/DSC system had given up the ghost. My mechanic was very professional and replaced the ABS control unit. According to his explanations, this is a serious matter because the ABS can save your life when driving, especially on wet or slippery roads. The good news is, it wasn't a recurring problem, since it was fixed, everything stayed quiet. But it's definitely something you should get checked out. Hope this helps you. Best regards!
