Fiat 124 Stalling Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Fiat 124 with a gasoline engine is experiencing stalling at idle and a check engine light, suspected to be due to a tank ventilation valve issue. The owner suspects clogged hoses as the cause. After taking the car to a workshop, it was confirmed that the hoses on the ventilation valve were indeed clogged, and the issue was resolved with a repair.

Gas cap seems fine, clicks like it always did. Where exactly were the hoses clogged on your Saab? Was it obvious when you looked?

On the Saab, it was a pain to get to, hidden behind the fuel tank. Unless you're comfortable dropping the tank, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. The check engine light and stalling are classic signs of a ventilation problem and it's better to be safe.

Thanks, took it to the shop. You were right. Clogged hoses on the ventilation valve. Repair came to 175€. Runs perfectly now.

Sounds familiar! I had similar issues with my old Saab 9-3 – the EVAP system hoses were completely shot. Like trying to suck air through a pinched straw! Is your gas cap sealing properly?
