Fiat 500 Diesel Preheating Issue

My 2020 Fiat 500 diesel is acting up. The preheating lamp won't turn off, the check engine light is on, and it's smoking when I accelerate. I suspect a bad glow control unit, maybe a loose cable. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had similar symptoms on my Fiat 500. Before replacing parts, have you considered a diagnostic test? The issue might not be as straightforward as it seems.

A diagnostic test? Interesting. What readings did you get when you ran yours? I'm trying to avoid unnecessary expenses.

The diagnostic test showed a defective heating element. I'd suggest proceeding with caution and consulting a workshop. These components are nuanced, and it's better to be safe.

Thanks for the advice! It WAS the glow control unit. I replaced it for 95€ and it's running smoothly. That diagnostic test tip was spot on!
