Fiat 500 fuel level sensor fault

Alright, Fiat aficionados, I've got a head-scratcher. My 2015 Fiat 500 diesel, with 125606 km on the clock, is throwing a check engine light. Seems to be a fuel level sensor fault, as it's stalling at idle sometimes, and the error memory confirms it. I've checked all the obvious stuff, but I am unsure about a fuse for the sensor. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this fuel system or had a similar issue?

Whoa, sounds familiar! I had similar weirdness with my 500. Check engine light, stalling… the works! I am thinking it could be the fuel level sensor itself. I am guessing it isn't a fuse.

Interesting! When you say similar, did you also have the fuel level sensor fault code specifically? And what did you do about it?

Yep, same code! I tried fiddling with it myself, but honestly, I was in over my head. I took it to a workshop, and they sorted it out quickly. Saved me a ton of time and frustration. I really suggest you do the same.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to the shop as you suggested, and you were spot on. Turned out to be the fuel level sensor itself. Total cost was 52€, parts and labor. Runs like a charm now!
