Fiat Bravo Diesel Fuel Filter Heater Error
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Fiat Bravo diesel exhibited reduced power, poor response, high fuel consumption, and uneven idling, with a diagnostic report indicating a fuel filter heater error. The suspected cause was a cable or plug issue, particularly corrosion at the fuel filter heater connections. Cleaning the contacts and applying dielectric grease resolved the problem, restoring normal engine performance.

Could you elaborate on the specific steps you took to diagnose the fault? Were there any unusual readings or observations that might help me?

I didn't get any unusual readings, just the error code like you. I traced it to a faulty connection. If cleaning the contacts doesn't solve it, I'd suggest a workshop visit; they can properly test the heater element itself.

I inspected the fuel filter heater connections and found corrosion. After cleaning the contacts and applying dielectric grease, the error code cleared, and the engine performance is back to normal. Repair cost was 95€ at the local workshop. Thanks for the help!

I had similar symptoms with my Fiat Bravo diesel. Check the fuel filter heater connections, particularly the plug. Corrosion can cause those exact issues. Check the voltage at the connector too.
