Fiat Bravo Manifold Pressure Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Fiat Bravo with a diesel engine is experiencing intermittent check engine lights, reduced engine power, poor response, and increased fuel consumption. Diagnostics indicate a faulty manifold pressure sensor, potentially caused by a vacuum leak. A smoke test at a workshop revealed a small crack in the intake manifold, which was repaired, resolving the issue.

Thanks for the tip. I visually inspected the intake manifold and hoses, but didn't spot anything obvious. Where exactly should I be looking for these cracks and connections, is there an area more prone to failure?

On the Astra, it was a tiny crack on the underside of one of the vacuum hoses, almost impossible to see without really getting in there. Given your symptoms and the sensor code, it's probably best to get a smoke test done at a workshop to pinpoint the leak. Beats replacing sensors blindly. 235€ down the line otherwise?

Thanks for the advice. Took it to a workshop, they did a smoke test and found a small crack in the intake manifold, right where you suggested looking. Replaced it, and that fixed the issue. New sensor + repair cost me 235€ in the end.

Sounds familiar. Had similar symptoms on my old Opel Astra – though it was a petrol engine. Did you check for any obvious cracks or loose connections in the intake manifold area? Sometimes it's something simple like that.
