Fiat Bravo Oxygen Sensor Heater Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Fiat Bravo diesel owner experienced a recurring check engine light, with diagnostics indicating an oxygen sensor heater fault and increased fuel consumption. The issue was suspected to be a faulty connection. After consulting with others, it was advised to check the wiring and connections. Ultimately, a local garage confirmed the problem as a faulty connection, which was resolved by cleaning and re-soldering, effectively addressing the issue.

Good shout, I'll check the wiring. How can I tell which sensor is throwing the code? The error memory doesn't specify. Is there any easy way to figure it out without ripping everything apart?

Without the specific code, it's tricky. If the wiring looks okay, honestly, you're probably best off taking it to a workshop. They'll have diagnostic tools to pinpoint exactly which sensor is causing the problem before you start throwing parts at it. Could save you some money and hassle in the long run, even if it's just for a proper diagnosis.

Cheers for the advice! Took it to a local garage, and you were spot on. Turns out it was a faulty connection, just as we suspected. They cleaned it up and re-soldered it. Cost me 95€, including labor. Much appreciated!

I've seen that before. Oxygen sensor heater failures are a pain. Could be the sensor itself, or like you said, a wiring issue. Have you checked the wiring and plug connection to the sensor? Give them a wiggle and see if anything changes. Which sensor is it reporting as faulty? Pre-cat or post-cat?
