Fiat Bravo running lean
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Fiat Bravo diesel with 185,846 km is experiencing issues indicative of running lean, such as a drop in power, rough running, and a persistent check engine light. The problem may be related to the air-fuel ratio, potentially involving the throttle body or injectors. A similar issue was resolved by replacing defective injectors that were delivering too little fuel, which corrected the lean condition and restored smooth engine operation.

Interesting. So, with the injectors, what exactly was happening? Were they clogged, or something else? And how did you narrow it down to those?

Yeah, mine were defective, giving too little fuel. If you have similar mileage, it's likely the same thing. Too lean a mix can also damage the cat. I'd get it checked out by someone who knows their stuff.

Thanks for the tip! I took it to a workshop, and you were right, it was the injection valves. Had them replaced, and it cost me 515€. Now it runs smoothly again.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar thing happen with my old Saab. The check engine light was on, engine ran rough, and I suspected the catalytic converter but the issue was the injectors giving the wrong mix. Have you checked yours?
