Fiat Bravo uneven engine running
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Fiat Bravo is experiencing uneven engine running, a check engine light, and jerking during acceleration. Potential causes suggested include a faulty oxygen sensor, an exhaust leak, a timing belt issue, or an engine misfire. The problem is more pronounced when the engine is cold but persists when warm. The recommended solution is to have a professional diagnostic performed at a workshop to accurately identify and address the issue.

Thanks! The issue is more noticeable when the engine is cold, but it's still there after it warms up. Does that sound like what you experienced? Any advice on how to diagnose the misfire further?

Yep, that's exactly what mine was doing. It's probably best to take it to a workshop, I'm afraid. They can run a proper diagnostic and pinpoint the exact cause. I was suspecting the same, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Cost me 265€, all in.

I appreciate the advice. It's helpful to hear from someone who's had the same problem. I'll book an appointment with a mechanic to get it inspected and repaired. Thanks again!

I had similar issues with my Bravo. Check engine light, rough idle, the whole nine yards. Feels like your car is trying to cough up a lung, right? I'd say it's probably the timing belt or an engine misfire. Does it happen all the time or just when the engine is cold?
