Hey! Really appreciate your input on this. I've clocked about 39121 km on my Fiat till now. Didn't get a chance to get it serviced recently, but I can bet you it's not the engine oil. Strangely enough, I always stick to the service intervals, lube, oil, and all, still dunno what's causing this. Might have to check in with my mechanic soon. If you, or anyone else, have any more suggestions, they're more than welcome.
Hey there, good to hear from you. Given the low mileage on your Fiat, there is a bit of a pickle indeed. If you're confident about your service schedule and oil, then cheers for that. But still, those metal shavings – they could become a real problem. If it’s not the oil, then those metal bits might point to some wear and tear somewhere in the engine. And, if the oil pressure light is still flickering you might be on the right track about that faulty engine oil pressure switch. Although it's best not to overlook these issues, you could run a few general checks yourself first before you head over to the mechanic. Look for leaks, inspect the wiring and connections to the pressure switch, try to spot any visible damage or corrosion. If you can't find anything and the lights still come on, might be best to bring your car to the mechanic sooner rather than later. It's hard to diagnose without looking under the hood. Also, the warning light on the speedometer could be an electrical issue or something more. Try getting your battery checked too. I remember when I faced a similar issue with my Fiat Bravo, the mechanic told me it's better safe than sorry. Keep us posted! Hope your beauty gets back to her best soon.
Yo! Thanks a whole bunch for your detailed advice, really nailed it down for me there. I will definitely look into those quick general checks and if things seem tight, I'll pay a visit to my local mechanic, and I'll surely get that battery checked too. Can't wait to cook my brain cells by staring down into the hood. Wish me luck! I'll keep you guys posted. All the best with your Bravo! Catch you later!
Hey, I had a similar issue with my 2007 Fiat Bravo, just a different model but quite close to your Croma. I'm no car genius, but I've dealt with a few grease monkey adventures. Turned out I had the wrong engine oil in mine, just like you might have. Took it to my local garage and they sorted it out for a smooth 175 Euro. Try giving your car the right engine oil for a change and see if that does the trick. It's hard to say without knowing more vehicle details. What's the mileage on your Croma? Are you following the car's given service intervals? Pass that info along, I may be able to help further!
