Fiat Marea Stalling Rough Idle

Hey, I'm having trouble with my 2005 Fiat Marea, gasoline version. It's got about 120,000 km on it. Recently, it won't start sometimes, stalls when idling, and the check engine light is on. It's running rough and seems to be using more fuel. I scanned it and it showed an error code. Any ideas? I checked the spark plugs but they look fine.

Greetings. I am familiar with the Fiat Marea. I once encountered a similar set of symptoms, including the engine's failure to start and the illumination of the check engine light. Allow me to inquire whether you have inspected the fuel pump's electrical connections, specifically the cable and plug? A defective connection can manifest in such a manner.

Thanks for the tip. I haven't specifically checked the fuel pump connections. Where exactly should I be looking, and what am I looking for? Is it easy to get to, or is it buried somewhere?

The fuel pump is located within the fuel tank, accessed typically beneath the rear seat or via an access panel in the trunk. Inspect the wiring harness and connector for any signs of corrosion, damage, or looseness. Given the complexity and potential safety hazards associated with fuel systems, it is advisable to seek assistance from a qualified workshop for a comprehensive diagnosis and repair if you are not experienced in automotive repair.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I took it to a local shop, and you were right, it was a bad connection to the fuel pump. They cleaned it up and secured it properly. Total cost was 95€. Runs like new again!
