Fiat Novo reduced engine power
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Fiat Novo experienced reduced engine power, with a diagnostic fault code suggesting a potential issue. The problem was suspected to be related to a faulty chip tuning or remap done by a previous owner. After taking the car to a garage, it was confirmed that the ECU had been poorly remapped. The garage restored the original software, resolving the error and restoring the car's performance.

That's interesting. By 'verified,' do you mean checked by a professional after installation? I only suspect a remap, as the previous owner mentioned something about performance upgrades. Is there a way to confirm this without specialized tools?

Exactly, a post-install check. Without the right tools, it's tricky to be 100% sure. The dashboard light might be on, but beyond that? Best bet is to take it to a workshop and have them read the car diagnostic data. They can usually spot signs of tampering.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a local garage, and they confirmed the ECU had indeed been remapped poorly. They flashed it back to the original software, and the error is gone. Cost me 180€, but it's running perfectly now!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my 2018 Opel Corsa after a dodgy remap. Was the 'tuning' ever verified, or is it just a suspicion? Worth checking the car computer hasn't been tampered with.
