Hey, appreciate the reply and believe me, that beacon of doom description is spot on, sheesh! I'm glad it worked out for your Bravo. Did the wallet take a significant hit for the diagnostic and pedal module replacement? Also, has anything else cropped up since? I know cars, especially Fiats, can throw you a curveball anytime. Cheers!
Hey, glad I'm not the only one who feels that way about the check engine light, right? So, here's how it went down. The fixing of the accelerator pedal module set me back by 205€. Not exactly peanuts, but hey, it was worth it to get my Fiat purring again. And about any follow-up issues, thankfully, everything's been humming along quite nicely since. Oh, and remember that cranky throttle valve you were suspecting? Bingo! Once I saw my mechanic, he worked up his magic and it's been silky smooth sailing since then. Throttle valve error = fixed. So get that checked out as well. Remember, car problems are like falling dominos, stop one and you stop them all. Best of luck with it! Keep us posted.
Well, those rates aren't too daunting. A functional car is indeed worth a few hundreds. That analogy about the falling dominos, absolutely brilliant - I'm smirking despite the current car situation, haha! Gotta deal with that pesky throttle valve then. Really hoping my Fiat will hit the purring stage soon, just like yours. Thanks for chipping in with your experience and advice, seriously, it was much needed. I'll drop by my mechanic first thing in the morning and will surely keep you updated. Cheers!
Hey there, I had a similar issue with my 2009 Fiat Bravo not too long ago. My car also had that same unpredictability and major power loss, and boy was it a rough ride. Like yours, my check engine light kept glowing like a beacon of doom. After getting it checked out, it turned out to be a defective accelerator pedal module, just like you suspected. The mechanics had to run a diagnostic to confirm it, and then the module was replaced. It's a pretty vital component of the car since it's responsible for controlling your car's throttle, so without it functioning well, you're basically pushing your car down a slope. Mine was fixed up and that sorted out the whole mess. Been running smooth as silk since then. So definitely get that looked into by your mechanic as soon as possible. Hope this helps!
