Fiat Panda 2010 Overheating Issue and Check Engine Light Concerns
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Fiat Panda is experiencing overheating, a check engine light, low coolant levels, and a warning light on the speedometer. A similar issue in a Fiat Punto was caused by a faulty water pump cable connection, leading to poor engine cooling and dropping coolant levels. The suggested solution is to replace the cable connection/plug of the water pump to prevent further engine damage. A visit to a mechanic is advised to address the issue promptly and avoid more costly repairs.

Hey there, just reading your plight I had a similar problem with my Panda a while back. It was a damn messy affair too! Once I had it sorted, things went more or less smooth. By the way, do you happen to recall how much you shelled out for the fix? Also, has anything else cropped up since then, or has your Punto been treating you better? Cheers!

Hey, it's cool to hear someone else had a similar nuisance with their Panda. To answer your question, yeah, the damage was a bit of a sting in the wallet - came to 155€ to swap out the battered old cable connection/plug of the water pump. Didn't have much choice if I wanted to avoid turning my engine into a glorified paperweight, you know? The good news is, post-visit to the doc (read: the mechanic), things have been sailing pretty smoothly. The gnarly error messages have quit, and our lit-up fiesta on the dashboard stopped partying. The Punto's back to her old self again, fingers crossed it stays that way. Keep your Panda purring. Cheers!

Hey fellas, I appreciate you taking a moment to share your experiences with me. The water pump cable connection sounds like it could definitely be my problem, especially given the syptoms. Seems like a trip to my mechanic is inescapable. Your anecdotes have certainly enlightened me about what to expect, and more importantly, to act quick before it turns into a more expensive problem. Fingers crossed, it'll be my Panda's turn to be back to running smoothly. I'm bracing myself for the sting in the wallet, though. Thanks for the heads up, guys! Cheers!

Hey, sounds like a pickle you're in. Had a similar issue with my 2013 Fiat Punto recently. Turned out the bugger was the cable connection/plug of the water pump. Made sense 'cause it was doing a right poor job at cooling the engine, saw coolant levels dropping too. Mechanic said it was pretty serious, could've cooked the engine if I'd pushed it longer. Had to get it replaced, no two ways about it. Hope this helps. Good luck with your Panda!
