Fiat Panda reduced engine power
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Fiat Panda with high mileage is experiencing reduced engine power and persistent error codes. The issue is suspected to be related to the engine control unit (ECU). A suggestion is made to check the main relay, a simpler component that can cause similar symptoms. After taking the car to a workshop, it is confirmed that a faulty main relay was the problem, and replacing it resolved the issue.

A relay, huh? Where would I even find the main relay? And how would I know if that's the problem? I'm not really sure what a relay even does! Is there a specific place I need to measure?

Think of a relay as a control system. The ECU uses them to switch power to different components. For your Panda, the main relay usually lives in the engine bay fuse box. To test it properly you need measuring equipment, but honestly, with those symptoms and the mileage, and without specialist know-how I suggest taking it to a workshop.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to a local workshop, turns out a dodgy main relay was indeed the culprit! New one fitted, and the Panda's back to its old self. Cost me 120€ all in.

Sounds like you're having ECU problems, a real pain! That error memory thing is classic. When you say the engine control unit, are you thinking it's the computer module itself, or could it be something simpler, like a relay going bad? A defective main relay can cause all sorts of weird issues, like reduced power and stored errors. It's relatively easy to check before digging into the complicated stuff.
