Fiat Petra Electric Seat Issue
Summary of the thread
The passenger electric seat on a 2003 Fiat Petra was unresponsive, with an error stored, despite the fuses being fine. A possible cause considered was a heavily discharged battery. Suggestions included checking the seat switch and wiggling the wiring harness for loose connections. Ultimately, the issue was traced to a defective battery, which was resolved at a repair shop.

Thanks for the suggestions. Which seat switch are you referring to specifically, and where exactly should I be wiggling the wiring harness? Any tips on identifying a loose connection?

Yeah, the one that controls the seat movement. Just try pressing all the buttons and see if you can measure any resistance or voltage. As for the harness, just give all the connectors a wiggle, one by one. If that doesn't fix it, I'd say it's time to visit a workshop.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a shop, and you were right, it was electrical. They said the battery was defective and it caused some weird issues. Repair came out to 290€. All sorted now.

That sucks! I had a similar problem with my old BMW 3 Series. Electric seats are a pain. Did you check the seat switch itself? Those can get dodgy. Also, have you wiggled the wiring harness under the seat? Sometimes a loose connection is all it takes.
