Fiat Sedici Poor Fuel Consumption

Hi, I have a 2007 Fiat Sedici with a gasoline engine. It's showing higher fuel consumption and starts poorly. The mileage is 93035 km. Could a defective throttle valve be the cause? I've checked the air intake, but I'm not sure where to go from here.

Summary of the thread

A 2007 Fiat Sedici with a gasoline engine is experiencing poor fuel consumption and starting issues. The initial suspicion was a defective throttle valve, but further investigation revealed that the accelerator pedal module was faulty. Replacing the module resolved the issues, improving fuel efficiency and engine performance.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Throttle valve issues are common. I had similar symptoms with my Sedici. Have you checked the accelerator pedal module? A defective one of those can cause problems with the engine throttle and control valve, messing with fuel efficiency.

How did you know it was the accelerator pedal module? And how much did the repair set you back?

The symptoms were exactly the same, and I checked the error codes. The module was faulty. I would suggest going to a workshop so they can properly diagnose it. It's likely the cause, though.

Thanks for the tip! It was indeed the accelerator pedal module, and the workshop confirmed it. Cost me 205€ to replace. Runs like new!
