Fiat Siena Charge Air Temperature Sensor Error
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Fiat Siena with a gasoline engine is experiencing a charge air temperature sensor error, resulting in a check engine light, reduced engine power, and unusual noises during acceleration. The issue is suspected to be caused by a defective cable or plug connection. After consulting a technician, it was confirmed that a faulty cable connection to the sensor was the cause, and repairing it resolved the symptoms.

Thanks for the response. You mentioned a potential fault in the temperature gauge. Could you elaborate on how a malfunctioning gauge might directly influence the charge air temperature sensor's readings? Is there a known correlation or shared circuit that could explain this interaction? I want to understand the underlying mechanisms before going further.

It is difficult to say what is the problem exactly, but I faced something similar not so long ago, and the mechanics told me that the problem was there. My recommendation is to go to the workshop, as I did, and have it checked. It cost me 95€.

Thanks for the advice. Following your recommendation, I consulted with a technician. The diagnosis confirmed a defective cable connection to the charge air temperature sensor. The repair, including parts and labor, was 95€. The symptoms are now resolved. Thank you.

Interesting. I have a Siena as well. Did you inspect the air intake system for any blockages or damage? A restricted airflow might influence the charge air temperature readings. Also, have you considered a faulty temperature gauge impacting the sensor's reported values? Could a simple air temperature discrepancy trigger such a cascade of symptoms?
