Fiat Talento Engine Stalling
Summary of the thread
The 2023 Fiat Talento diesel experienced engine stalling at idle, with the check engine light on. The initial suspicion was a fuel tank ventilation system leak. A similar issue in another vehicle was traced to a defective activated charcoal filter, which was confirmed as the cause in this case. The problem was resolved after replacing the filter, costing 275€.

I suspected the activated charcoal filter. Could you elaborate on your Astra experience? Was the purge valve the culprit, or the pressure sensor? Where was the leak?

On my Astra, it ended up being a defective activated charcoal filter causing excessive vacuum. Check that first, but honestly, with those symptoms, I'd recommend a workshop visit for proper diagnostics.

Thank you. You were spot on. The defective activated charcoal filter was the issue. The workshop confirmed your suspicion. Repair cost me 275€. This nightmare is finally over.

I had similar issues with my old Vauxhall Astra; exact same symptoms. Have you checked the purge valve or the fuel tank pressure sensor? Could be emission control related.
