Fiesta ABS Lateral Acceleration Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Ford Fiesta diesel is experiencing an ABS problem, indicated by the ABS light being on and the system appearing non-functional. A diagnostic scan reveals a lateral acceleration sensor fault, which could be caused by a defective control unit. The suggested solution is to take the car to a workshop for a proper diagnosis and potentially replace the control unit to resolve the issue.

No, just the ABS light and the system failure. The error memory also stores the fault. What was the final fix for your car?

Sounds very similar to what I experienced. In my case, the control unit was indeed defective. I ended up having to replace it at the workshop. I'd suggest taking it in for a proper diagnosis, it might save you some headache. The repair ended up costing me around 1000€.

Thanks for the info! That confirms my suspicions. I'll take it to a workshop. Sounds like I am looking at a similar repair cost. Appreciate the help!

I had a similar issue with my Fiesta. The lateral acceleration sensor can definitely cause those symptoms. Have you noticed any other strange behavior with the electronic stability control?
