Fiesta engine jerking hissing
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Ford Fiesta is experiencing engine issues, including jerking during acceleration, a whistling noise escalating to a loud hissing, stalling at idle, increased fuel consumption, and reduced power, with the check engine light on. The initial suspicion was a faulty boost pressure sensor, but a suggestion was made to check the air intake system. Upon inspection at a workshop, the problem was confirmed to be a defective cable connection related to the boost pressure sensor, which was repaired.

Thanks for the reply. Air intake? Is there any specific part of the air intake system I should check, given these symptoms?

Well, I am no expert, but that´s what a workshop told me. They sorted it quickly. I suggest you get yours checked too.

I appreciate the insight. I had the Fiesta checked at a workshop. It was the boost pressure sensor, specifically a defective cable connection. Repair cost: 95€

That sounds familiar! I drive a Fiesta too. Are you sure it's the boost pressure sensor? Mine had similar symptoms – jerking, hissing, and the check engine light. Could it be related to the air intake system instead?
