Fiesta Fuel Pump Error

My 2011 Ford Fiesta (gasoline) is acting up at 103104 km. Sometimes it won't start, and when it does, it stalls. The check engine light is on, the engine runs rough, and fuel consumption is up! The error memory shows a fuel pump error. I checked the cable and plug connections. Could that be it?

Summary of the thread

A 2011 Ford Fiesta with 103,104 km was experiencing starting issues, stalling, rough engine performance, increased fuel consumption, and a check engine light, with a diagnostic error indicating a fuel pump problem. Initial checks of cable and plug connections were made, but the issue persisted. A suggestion was made to inspect the fuel pump relay, but ultimately, a workshop confirmed the problem was a defective cable/plug connection to the fuel pump. After repair, the vehicle's performance returned to normal.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I had similar issues with my Fiesta. Did you check the fuel pump relay? That fixed it for me.

Interesting! I hadn't thought of the relay. Where is it located, and how can I easily test it?

I don't remember the exact location, but it was more complicated than I thought. Given your symptoms, I'd suggest a trusted workshop does a thorough inspection.

The workshop confirmed it was the fuel pump, like the error code said. The cable/plug connection was defective, just like I suspected. The repair cost 95€, but the Fiesta runs smoothly now!
