Fiesta Idle Control Valve Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Ford Fiesta with 119,341 km is experiencing stalling at idle and a check engine light, with a scan indicating an issue with the idle air control valve. Cleaning the throttle body did not resolve the problem, and the intake appears heavily contaminated. The solution involved replacing the faulty idle air control valve and cleaning the intake, which resolved the stalling issue and cleared the error codes.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Yes, the error code points to the idle air control valve. I hoped it was something simpler, like a vacuum leak, but I can't find any. Did you fix it yourself, or did you take it to a shop?

I tried cleaning it and checking the connections, but no luck. I took it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the valve and replaced it. Best to get it checked properly, could save you a headache.

Thanks! I suspected that. I took it to my local garage, and they confirmed it was a bad idle air control valve and the intake was heavily contaminated. They replaced the valve, cleaned the intake, and reset the error codes. It cost 425€, but it's running smoothly now. Thanks again!

That sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra, though mine was a diesel. Stalling engine and the check engine light. It was a faulty idle control valve. Did the error code specifically point to the valve?
