Fiesta Oil Pressure Warning and Engine Noise

Hi, I have a 2021 Ford Fiesta with a gasoline engine. Recently, the oil pressure warning lamp lights up intermittently, and there are loud mechanical noises coming from the engine. The car has 59505 km on the clock. Could it be a clogged oil filter?

Summary of the thread

A 2021 Ford Fiesta owner reported an intermittent oil pressure warning light and loud mechanical noises from the engine. The initial suspicion was a clogged oil filter, but further discussion suggested checking for oil leakage and engine oil levels. The symptoms were ultimately attributed to a defective oil pump, which was confirmed by a workshop diagnosis and subsequently repaired.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I had a similar issue with my Fiesta. Did you check for oil leakage or inspect the engine oil level?

Thanks for the advice. No visible oil leakage, and the oil level seems fine. Could it be the engine bearings failing?

While engine bearings are a possibility, the symptoms point more towards a defect in the oil pump, especially with the low pressure warning. I would suggest taking it to a workshop to get it properly diagnosed.

Thanks, I appreciate the insight. I took it to the workshop and you were right, it was the oil pump. Repair cost 755€ Cheers!
