Fiesta Power Loss Hissing Noise

I'm having a weird issue with my 2015 Ford Fiesta with a gasoline engine. The check engine light is on, and the car feels like it's lost a lot of power with poor engine response. Sometimes it even stalls when I'm idling. Plus, my fuel consumption seems to have gone up a lot. I've also noticed a loud hissing when accelerating. Any ideas? The car has 217201 km on the clock. I was thinking maybe it has something to do with the boost pressure system?

Sounds rough. I had something similar with my Fiesta – though I can't say it's exactly the same. The hissing noise you describe could be a leak. Have you checked your intercooler pipes? A leak there will cause all sorts of issues with boost pressure. Could also be the MAP sensor failing.

Thanks for the suggestion! What exactly is the intercooler, and where would I find it? And if the MAP sensor is failing, would I be able to test it somehow?

Okay, the intercooler cools down the air coming from your turbo. Think of it like a radiator for the turbo's air. You'll find it near the front of the engine, behind the bumper. As for the MAP sensor, you could try cleaning it, but testing it properly needs diagnostic tools. Honestly, with all those symptoms, and the whistling sound, it's probably best to get it checked by a workshop. Could be the wastegate valve too.

Thanks a lot! I got it to a workshop. They said it was indeed the wastegate valve, and the final bill came to 860€. Appreciate the help!
