Bubbles under the gel pad, you say? I'll have to take a look. If that's the cause, is it a straightforward fix or something I should leave to the professionals?

I'd say it's best left to a workshop. If the bubbles are the issue, the sensor might need replacing or the gel pad re-adhered. You could try it yourself, but you risk damaging the windshield or sensor. Better safe than sorry, right?

You were spot on! Took it to a workshop, and bubbles under the gel pad were indeed the culprit. They replaced the sensor, cost me 62€ Thanks for the advice!

Sounds familiar! I had similar issues with my Fiesta. Do you see any bubbles forming under the gel pad of the windshield where the sensor sits? That's what caused my auto sensor to go nuts.
