Fiesta Seat Heater Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Ford Fiesta diesel's seat heater is not functioning, and an error message indicates a malfunction. The problem is likely due to a faulty heating mat or thermal sensor integrated into the seat cushion. It is recommended to have a workshop diagnose and repair the issue, as it may be complex to address independently.

A thermal sensor? Where is that located? The error just says something vague like 'seat heating malfunction'. Is it a big job to get to the sensor?

The sensor is usually integrated into the heating mat in the seat cushion. Given the stored error and lack of warmth, the mat itself is likely defective. I'd recommend a workshop for diagnosis and repair; it might be a bit fiddly to do yourself.

Workshop it is! They reckon it's the heating mat, like we thought, and quoted 390€. Ouch! Thanks for the help!

I had a similar issue with my Fiesta. Check the thermal sensor; it might be faulty. Is the error code pointing to an open circuit or a short?
