Summary of the thread
A 2023 Ford Fiesta with 159,000 km is experiencing significant automatic transmission issues, including implausible shifting, a transmission warning light, and emergency mode activation. Undervoltage, really? I haven't checked that specifically. Where should I even begin to look for that? And hydraulic fluid, is that the same as transmission fluid? Sorry, I'm not the most mechanically inclined...

Yeah, undervoltage can mess with the transmission's electronic controls. And yes, hydraulic fluid in this case means transmission fluid. To be honest, with those symptoms, it's probably best to take it to a workshop. They can properly diagnose the issue and check for things like slipping transmission. It's better than guessing and potentially making things worse.

Thanks a lot! I took it to a shop, and you were right they said it was likely due to undervoltage causing the transmission oil to wear out prematurely. Cost me 240€ for an oil replacement. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar! I had similar transmission problems with my Fiesta (though I don't remember what year). Was it maybe undervoltage in the vehicle? Have you checked the hydraulic fluid recently?
