Figo anti theft alarm malfunction

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2016 Ford Figo (gasoline engine). The anti-theft alarm system seems to have malfunctioned. I'm getting an error stored in the memory, and the alarm system itself is completely non-functional. Has anyone else dealt with this?

I also have a Ford Figo and had a similar issue a while back. Does the alarm sound or is it just the indicator lights that aren't working when you lock/unlock the car?

It's definitely the whole system. No sound, no flashing lights, nothing. The error memory is the only clue. What exactly was happening with yours?

Ah, mine was just the lights, so probably a different cause. My mechanic mentioned that if the whole system is dead, it could be an issue with the alarm being coded to activate the optical locking, but that the function is broken. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop to get it checked out.

Thanks for the advice! Turns out you were right – it was indeed the alarm system being coded for the optical locking, which somehow glitched. A quick reset and recoding at the workshop, and it's all sorted. Cost me 45€. Appreciate the insight!
