Figo Electronic Parking Brake Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Ford Figo is experiencing an unresponsive electronic parking brake, with a fault stored in the error memory and a warning light on the speedometer. The issue might be due to the electric motor in the brake caliper, though checking the brake switch near the handbrake lever is suggested as a preliminary step. Ultimately, a proper diagnostic check is recommended to confirm the cause before proceeding with potentially costly repairs.

Thanks for the quick reply! Where exactly is the brake switch located, and is it easy to check myself? I'm trying to avoid a costly workshop visit if possible.

It's near the handbrake lever itself. I fiddled with mine but no joy. Turns out, the electric motor in the calliper was indeed the culprit. Bit of a pain, needed to get it replaced at a workshop. I'd recommend getting it diagnosed properly to confirm before buying any parts.

Thanks for confirming that! I suspected as much. I'll book it in for a diagnostic check and prepare for the worst. Looks like I'm facing a similar repair - cost estimated at around 505€. Appreciate the help!

I had a similar problem on my Figo. Electronic handbrake went kaput and threw up a warning light. Did you check the brake switch first?
