Figo Electronic Parking Brake Fault

My 2010 Ford Figo with a gasoline engine is giving me grief. The electronic parking brake is completely unresponsive. The error memory has a fault stored, and the warning light is constantly on the speedometer. Has anyone experienced similar issues? I'm thinking it might be the electric motor in the brake calliper but not sure.

I had a similar problem on my Figo. Electronic handbrake went kaput and threw up a warning light. Did you check the brake switch first?

Thanks for the quick reply! Where exactly is the brake switch located, and is it easy to check myself? I'm trying to avoid a costly workshop visit if possible.

It's near the handbrake lever itself. I fiddled with mine but no joy. Turns out, the electric motor in the calliper was indeed the culprit. Bit of a pain, needed to get it replaced at a workshop. I'd recommend getting it diagnosed properly to confirm before buying any parts.

Thanks for confirming that! I suspected as much. I'll book it in for a diagnostic check and prepare for the worst. Looks like I'm facing a similar repair - cost estimated at around 505€. Appreciate the help!
